Dazzling Dancer

“Dazzling” doesn’t begin to do this dancing beauty justice!  Stunning, elegant, adorable, sweet… the list goes on and on.

Diana wanted to give her boyfriend a special present for his birthday this year so rather than a plaid tie or steak dinner, she decided to give him what he loves most–her!  Diana came into the studio with her perfectly applied make-up, and she was gorgeous even in her sweats.  When it was camera time, Diana really started to shine.

Diana’s dance training not only gave her this killer bod, but also the performance know-how that made the camera fall in love with her.  And do I even need to mention those sky blue eyes?  Absolutely beautiful!

Diana brought lots of her (and her boyfriend’s) favorite outfits and together we picked out some great ensembles.

She and her beau enjoy swing dancing so she wanted to incorporate a 50’s style to some of her photos–I love the way the red shoes, turquoise bra, and high-waisted boy shorts brought us back a few decades!

And when does a man’s sweater look better than on his girfriend’s body and paired with lacy panties?  Never.  Or his white undershirt?  Same answer.  Lucky man.

And it turns out that Kevin realized how lucky he is!  I got this e-mail the week after his birthday:

Subject: Big news

Hi Jennifer,

Hope your vacation was fun just wanted to tell you he REALLY liked the pictures and …. Asked me to marry him!;)

I don’t know about you, but it gave me goosebumps!  It is stories like this that remind me how much I love my job, and I’m so lucky to be part of the precious moments in peoples’ lives.

Congratulations Diana and Kevin!  May you share a lifetime of love and happiness!

And a special thanks to Sweethardt Photography, for without Jenn, my broken wrist would have kept me from portrait sessions this month.  Her creative style and inventive posing techniques made beautiful images!  Thanks for being my hands, Jenn!

Boudoir on the Rooftop

When I first started into the business of photography, I wasn’t sure what to make of blogging on a regular basis.  I wondered what would be interesting enough for me to write about, but as I venture into this amazing business I feel as though I have a TON of things that inspire me to write about.  This past weekend was one of those times when I went home at 8:30pm on a Saturday feeling as happy as I could possibly be!  The studio is coming together, and I have amazing clients to work with!  I love what I do and I feel luckier by the day.  So what better experience than that to kick off my very first blog post:

The roof deck is officially done, and Sara came in for a boudoir session to break it in!  It was a bit chilly up there, but she was a trooper!  During our image consultation, Sara warned me that she “wasn’t photogenic”.  Well, I’m having problems sorting through the tons and tons of my favorites, so let me know what you think!  My camera loves her, that’s for sure!

Sara went shopping for some great lingerie that flattered her already amazing figure.  She got her make-up done by Gianna DiMaggio at the Laura Mercier counter at Nordstrom.  Gianna did a great job in bringing out Sara’s natural beauty, and a lady at the mall stopped to tell Sara that she “wanted to jump in those big beautiful pools that are her blue eyes!”  Never heard a compliment quite like that, but I think we get the idea–her eyes are gorgeous.

Before she came in, I knew Sara was a swimmer, but I wasn’t really aware of the extent of her tan lines.  She has a great tan (especially compared to my SF winter white legs), but I thought it was a fun part of the shoot to show those lines.  It truly shows who she is and the many sides of the sporty, glamorous, and fun Sara!

Sara wasn’t sure what she was going to do with these photos, but after showing her some of the proofs, she decided she needed some rush prints for Valentine’s Day, and I think her boyfriend is going to be VERY happy with his present!  :)
